What’s on February 2015

Every four weeks our blog introduces the highlight events from around Scotland for the coming month. Of course, we do this so that our clients can get the most out of their upcoming holiday, but it also makes us realise how lucky we are to live in such an exciting and beautiful country! So what’s on in February? Here are just some of our top choices:

“Jewel-like treasures”: Dutch art on Copper

Glasgow is Scotland’s city of vibrancy and multi-culturalism. This month, and indeed until mid-June, the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is home to some of the most iconic Dutch works from the 1600s. Whisky Tasting Masterclass

WhiskyThe perfect finale to a day of Dutch culture is of course an evening of Scottish culture. Whisky tasting! This isn’t just a tasting session however, this is a “masterclass” in the finest scotch from around the country. Immerse yourself in all things Scottish as you sip whisky in the foothills of Glencoe – an iconic and strikingly beautiful location. The masterclass takes places on the 26th of February, and tickets can be found at the link below:


Yankee Cries And Rebel Yells: The American Civil War

From Glasgow to Glencoe and now to Edinburgh. To commemorate the American Civil War, which ended 150 years ago this year, the National Library of Scotland has a created an incredible exhibition. “This display includes rare letters, political pamphlets, newspapers, and memoirs from the era”, which not only memorialise the Union and Confederate soldiers, but also the largely forgotten Scots who were embroiled in the conflict. The display promises to be an impressive and touching cumulation of artefacts and written documents from Scotland and the US. Have a look at the website to find out more:
