At Sleigh’s we are eager to showcase our calibre of service and unique experiences, so when clients approached us to plan their 60th birthday excursion, we knew it was right up our alley. The family wanted to include a brief visit to London before heading to the Scottish Highlands to discover Scotland’s rugged and beautiful nature.
The trip kicked off in London with a visit to the secret corridors of the Churchill War Rooms through a private tour of the underground tunnels to satisfy the history buffs in the family. They later experienced a taste of ultimate luxury and enjoyed champagne and caviar on a private Thames cruise, before disembarking for a night at the museum, through an exclusive post-closing tour of the National Gallery led by an expert curator on-site.
For their time in Scotland, they wanted to be immersed in nature and history. We kicked off their Scottish adventure with a visit to Culloden Battlefield, where the family got to experience the full history and tragedy-shrouded battlefield and ancient cemetery, paired with a private weapons demonstration.
Our team, determined to make the lead client’s 60th birthday special, brought together a day of celebration. A morning of privately guided kayaking through the crystal-clear waters of the West Coast was transformed when the clients rounded a headland to find a fantastic surprise picnic lunch awaiting them on the beach of a private estate. Disembarking their kayak, they were led up the red carpet to a roaring fire, where bubbly and a private chef cooking over the open coals awaited them.
We did not hold back on the luxurious elements in this trip, as the family proceeded to experience a private Whisky tasting and blending at Glenturret, Scotland’s oldest working distillery, and relished in a delicious lunch in Lalique, the distillery’s spectacular two-star Michelin restaurant. The following day, they were then treated to a Private Tour and Lunch with Lord and Lady Bruce themselves at Broomhall House.
Throughout their trip, our team worked with their guide and driver to adapt their itinerary in order to make the experiences extra special. A note from their guide that the clients were very keen on Outlander and fond of dogs guided our team to adjust the timing of their days so they could make stops at the village of Culross, Midhope Castle, and receive a warm welcome to Edinburgh from some canine friends.
Sleigh’s strives to offer our clients the very best, and we also love a challenge, preferring to not conform but to create. Our expert team continued to work meticulously behind the scenes to ensure that our clients left with an everlasting impression of the United Kingdom. Get in touch with us to create life-long memories together.
